Brazil, 2075. In a dystopian future with scarce vegetation, a massive tropical storm has divided the country into five islands.

Maya (29), an Afro-Indigenous photojournalist, is deeply involved in an investigation about the sansevieria plant, known as Ogun's sword, a medicinal plant that purifies the air and survives the catastrophe. During her search, Maya loses her visa and is notified by the government to renew her biometric passport within 45 days, or she will lose her citizenship and her human essence.

This prevents her from traveling between the islands and forces her to embark on a clandestine journey to recover the documents of her origin in the last Pataxó Indigenous village. During this journey, Maya may discover the key to begin restoring the planet’s air quality by reconnecting with her missing grandmother.
